The Teen Health Awareness Club was founded in October 2012.
Our innovative, dedicated, and passionate club members continue to promote our mission to increase health awareness among our peers.

Our club worked with "Fire Up Your Feet" coordinator (sponsored by Safe Routes to School National Partnership and Kaiser Permanente) to encourage Davis elementary and Junior high schools to participate in this activity.
This program inspires your family, students and teachers to get moving to raise money for the cause of fighting childhood obesity and also make a big different for your school!

SUCCESSFUL Alternative to Soda Day at North Davis Elementary School.
1st-6th graders lined up to answer questions and complete the soda-sugar cube matching games to win reusable water bottles!
Children asked: "Will you be back tomorrow?"and thanked us for teaching them about how much sugar is in soda and other sugary beverages.

give us insights in the life of a busy surgeon.

David Harrington, a physical therapist from Kaiser Vacaville Medical Center, will come speak to us about his career and will discuss the most common joint injuries in teenagers.

The Davis Bicycles! Schools Committee sent a BIG thank you for our club's help during the Fire Up Your Feet campaign this past October 2014. Our Club was recognized for helping raise awareness and promoting active transportation in our community.

Dr. William Amess, an endocrinologist for Kaiser Vacaville Medical Center, who trained at USC Medical School and UC Davis will discuss what is diabetes mellitus, why is this disease on the rise, and what you can do to "reduce your risk of diabetes mellitus." He will also discuss his career and choice of medical speciality.

Dr. Amy Chen, pediatrician at Davis Kaiser, will give us some "Tips on how to stay healthy this winter!" plus tell us about her career.
